Held from 15-18 May, nearly 110 delegates from 40 countries attended the Alliott Global Alliance 2022 Budapest EMEA Regional Conference, teh first major in person meeting since the Covid-19 epidemic.
Day zero of the three-day event started with a welcome dinner, followed by the Alliance’s special working groups holding their sectional sessions on the first day. The nearly a dozen working groups include International VAT, Global Mobility, Transfer Pricing, Audit and International Business Law Working Group, but a new feature of the Budapest conference was the formation of the CEE/SEE Working Group, with which the Association aims to promote cooperation and thus competitiveness among members from the Central and South-East European regions.
On the second day of the conference, members were introduced to new developments in the Alliance and took part in workshops on how to manage synergies within the Alliance more effectively.
On the third day, Attila Mizsér, Olympic pentathlon champion, took part in a panel discussion in which the audience was also actively involved. Attila was interviewed by the heads of 5 member firms of the Association, including Dr Dániel Fehér, Managing Partner of Fehér Legal & Tax, about the business environment in Hungary and his success in both sport and business management. On the latter, the Olympic champion noted that „leadership is an extreme sport”.
Attila Mizsér was followed by Eddie The Eagle, the famous ski-jumping Olympian, who impressed the audience with his modesty and perseverance. Eddie’s inspiring story is a clear message for everyone: there is no impossible goal in life!
The conference concluded with keynote presentations on ESG strategy making and efficiency improvement.
The event, which ran from Sunday to Wednesday, was packed also with social, cultural and culinary events, giving participants a taste of Budapest’s architectural, gastronomic and leisure attractions.
